Welcome to the Center for Well-Being Education's
Integrative Health & Well-Being Coach Training
with Dr. Suzie Carmack, PhD, MFA, MEd, ERYT
Phase 1: 8 Weeks to Well-Being (16 hours)
Receive Weekly Coaching from Dr. C, and learn the "client's point of view"
In this phase you will meet with Dr. C weekly for 8 Sunday evenings from 7 - 9 pm EST and learn how you can optimize your own well-being. You'll complete homework assignments at your own pace, to learn more about the science of health coaching, and receive the support of our online learning community -- with trainees like you attending virtually from anywhere. By the end of these first 8 weeks, you'll have taken each dimension of your well-being to the next thriving level! (If you are not interested in becoming a coach, and would like to take this 8-week program separately, please go HERE to learn more.)
Phase 2: 7 Weeks to Well-Being Coaching (16 hours)
Learn how to coach your clients through Dr. C's 8 Weeks to Well-Being Course
In this phase you will build on the progress you made in the first 8 weeks as a client, and go behind the scenes to the work of a well-being coach. You'll continue to meet with Dr. C for 7 Sunday evenings from 7 - 9 pm EST to explore how you can effectively coach your clients in both one:one and group settings to meet their well-being goals. Each week you'll be asked to practice coaching techniques, and receive both accountability and support for your coaching studies from our online learning community. By the end of phase 2, you will be ready to begin coaching using Dr. C's Well-Being Ultimatum framework, and you will receive a certificate of completion. You'll also learn ICHWC national coaching guidelines, so that you will be well prepared to coach using the latest industry standards, but also well-prepared to take the ICHWC exam (which is optional upon completion of phase 3, below).
Phase 3: Coaching Practicum & ICHWC Exam Prep = Additional 50+ hours (Optional)
This phase is optional and conducted independently; you will only need to complete phase 3 if you wish to sit for the ICHWC national board exam for health, wellness and well-being coaching. In order to sit for this national board exam, created by ICHWC with the National Board of Medical Examiners, you must:
(1) submit a coach training program certificate from an ICHWC-approved program (i.e. your certificate from phases 1 & 2)
(2) coach clients and keep a weekly log as per ICWHC guidelines
and (3) apply to sit for the exam during the appropriate exam window.
